Govenors Bay

Governors Bay is a Department of Conservation site with a small grassy area, long-drop toilet and a short trail down from the Queen Charlotte Drive.

The eastern part of this bay is a very pleasant anchorage in winds up to 20 knots from N sector and also gives good shelter in SE to S winds.

Winds from SW to W tend to curve straight into the bay.

This is a beautiful anchorage in a small, quiet bay in Grove Arm.

Take your dinghy ashore to picnic or swim off one of the best sandy beaches in the Queen Charlotte Sound.

Mooring #239 lies on the East side of Governors Bay, Grove Arm and to the North of Clubs’ mooring #9. It is sheltered in South to East to North winds but is more exposed than mooring #9. It is currently limited to one boat at a time of maximum boat length 13.5m
