The following Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of this website. Use of this website is taken as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
1. Navigational Use
1.1 The Cruise Guide is intended to be a general guide providing helpful information for boaties and visitors to the Marlborough Sounds. It is not intended for navigational use. Always navigate by reference to a current navigational chart or map.
2. Feedback and Contributions
2.1 Feedback and contributions to this website are welcomed and form an important part of the ongoing development of content and usability of the site. All feedback and contributions are made on the basis that Council may in its discretion incorporate such feedback and contributions into the permanent site content and that Council has a perpetual non revocable licence to use such information on the site.
2.2 Council reserves the right in relation to feedback or contributions to remove the following material:
(a) unlawful, objectionable, obscene, explicit, abusive, hateful, defamatory or inappropriate material;
(b) incorrect or misleading material;
(c) material that appears to be plagiarised or breaches the intellectual property ownership rights of a third party;
(d) material that is advertising, spam or for other commercial purposes;
(e) material that is irrelevant or not of use to the general community of boaties and users in the Marlborough Sounds
(f) material where the identity of the provider appears to have been misrepresented.
2.3 All decisions as to the removal of material from this website shall be as determined by the Council, in Councils complete discretion.
2.4 Users may not post material on this website that is unlawful, objectionable, obscene, explicit, abusive, hateful, defamatory, incorrect, misleading or inappropriate or breaches the intellectual property rights of any other party.
3. Use of Site
3.1 Council uses all reasonable endeavours to ensure content on this website is accurate. However it is not always possible to ensure information is current or correct. In publishing material on this website Council is endeavouring to make useful information available to website users. Council is not providing advice as to safety, navigational or any other matter. The appropriate reference material should be consulted as to all such matters.
3.2 To the extent possible at law Council disclaims all warranties in relation to the use of this website, express or implied and all liability arising in any way from the use of this website or as to any matter covered by this website.
3.3 Without limiting the above Council disclaims any warranty or representation that this website is error free, will be available, that errors will be corrected or that the host server will be free of viruses or other malware.

4.1 Links on this site are to websites that Council considers will be helpful to website users. Such websites are not maintained by Council. Council has no responsibility for availability of or content on such websites nor endorses such content. Access to all linked websites is at the users risk.
5. Copyright
5.1 The intellectual property in all permanent content on this website is either owned by the Council or is licensed to the Council by the holder of the intellectual property. Access to and use of such intellectual property is for personal and non-commercial purposes only. Users may download website material for such personal and non-commercial use.
5.2 Other than as set out in clause 5.1 downloading, using, reproducing, re-publishing, distributing or exploiting any material on this website requires the Council’s prior written approval. No right, title or interest in or to any such website material is granted to users. All such rights are reserved to the Council.

6.1 Council reserves the right to discontinue or modify this website at any time.
6.2 These terms and conditions are governed by New Zealand law. Users submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand Courts.
