Bottle Bay has greater depth of water than Davies Bay.
Strong NW to N winds funnel out the valley and can make this an unpleasant anchorage.
The bay is open to winds from E to SW
A water-ski lane is marked on the eastern shore.
Water-skiers frequent this bay, so anchorage is not suitable except with a stern line, and even then it can be a tight squeeze.
