Aratawa Bay

Aratawa Bay has good protection from most winds except the SE and NW. SE blows straight into the bay, southerly rolls into the bay around the point, creating substantial swell. Strong NW winds bounce off the hills creating sever gusts and down drafts.

Aratawa is popular and more densely populated with baches and holiday homes. The bay is mostly visited by the owners. A 5 knot buoy is in place at the entrance here.
