Nydia Bay

Little wind blows in this bay. However, it is of limited use to boats since most it is extremely shallow.

The entire western end of the bay dries for a considerable distance from the shore and boats should proceed with extreme caution in this area.

The tidal rise and fall is up to four meters here and because of it, the safe depth of water can be deceptive.

There is a walking track leading from the north western end of Nydia Bay to Ngawhakawhiti.
