The Raetihi guest house is situated in this bay. The bay is a good anchorage in winds from SW to N and will even provide good anchorage in moderate winds from E to S to SW, but there is poor holding in fine mud where the stream from the N enters the bay.
The anchorage adjacent to Hopewell is excellent shelter and good holding in SW to NW conditions. There is accommodation available here.
