This small island is a wildlife sanctuary. There is deep water close to the shore but several dangerous outlying rocks. A reef extends 700 m from the eastern end of the island. There is a rock that dries to two m about chart datum, 650 m from the shore but reef extends a further 50 m from this rock. This end of the island should be given a good clearance. There is also foul ground out from the northern shore with a dangerous rock as shown in the sketch.
