Mokau Bay

Mokau Bay gives good shelter and holding in the coves on its northern side in winds from W to N to E. The rock shown on the sketch is not marked on marine charts.

History

This bay is named after Mokau Te Rangihaeata Kawharu, a chief of Ngāti Koata.1
